Full Time

FULL TIME COACH

 

CHALK is seeking a full-time coach to support all aspects of customer service and the customer's journey. They would be driving the overall development of the customer experience by coaching classes and responsible for organising Chalk community events, building and maintaining customer service content, and will work closely with the Gym Manager to drive improvements in critical areas of opportunity.

If you are a curious minded, self-starter with a passion for delivering best in class customer experiences, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work the Chalk reception before classes, which includes, but is not limited to; helping with gym set-up, member check-in, account management, and general gym cleanliness and product replenishment.

  • Building and executing communication and training content for events or initiatives.

  • Assist with the overall growth, development and promotion of the gym through sales, active retention, and events.

  • Actively participate and coach Group Classes at Chalk support the growth and development of Chalk Online.

  • Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the owner's ability to effectively lead the organisation, including but not limited to;  assisting with special projects,  scheduling meetings, events and training workshops, and other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain equipment to the highest standard on a scheduled rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES

  • At least 1 year of coaching experience.

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification, Level 2 in Gym Instructing, or similar Strength and Conditioning certification. Successful candidate(s) without a CrossFit certification will be enrolled to an upcoming CFL1 certification.

  • Good knowledge of CrossFit movements, terminology and brand

  • High energy and a can-do attitude, with the ability to anticipate needs.

  • Self-starter who is able to take initiative to drive results with minimal or no guidance.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the natural ability to build relationships with the team and clients.

  • Exceptional organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail. Demonstrates solid verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

EMPLOYMENT AND BENEFITS

Up to 38 hours per week with a starting salary of £26,000 - £27,810.

 

Full-time coaches typically work 5 days per week and rarely, if ever, work split shifts — we pride ourselves on providing healthy work-life balance for full-time coaches with a clear progression plan. Within the average work week, full-time coaches will deliver 16 group fitness classes. The remaining hours are allocated to a broad variety of administrative tasks, gym maintenance and coaching development.

PART TIME

PART TIME COACH

 

CHALK is seeking a part-time coach to support all aspects of customer service and the customer's journey. They would be driving the overall development of the customer experience by coaching classes and responsible for assisting with Chalk community events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work the Chalk reception before classes, which includes, but is not limited to; helping with gym set-up, member check-in, account management, and general gym cleanliness and product replenishment.

  • Actively participate and coach Group Classes at Chalk

  • Maintain equipment to the highest standard on a scheduled rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES

  • At least 1 year of coaching experience.

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification, Level 2 in Gym Instructing, or similar Strength and Conditioning certification. Successful candidate(s) without a CrossFit certification must enrol to an upcoming CFL1 certification within 6 months of accepting the position.

  • Good knowledge of CrossFit movements, terminology and brand

  • High energy and a can-do attitude, with the ability to anticipate needs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the natural ability to build relationships with the team and clients.

  • Demonstrates solid verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

EMPLOYMENT AND BENEFITS

  • A minimum of 4 hours per week.

  • Entry level coaches receive £16.50 per hour for coaching classes, £25 for one-to-one and £15 per hour for administrative tasks. Paid monthly via bank transfer.

  • Part-time coaches operate as contractors, i.e. self employed. They must have their own Public Liability insurance and we require proof of Public Liability. 

  • Access to Chalk's Coaching Development Resources

  • Ongoing coaching development 

  • Use of the Chalk facility to service your own clients via one-to-one training
